BENEE Announces New Album “Ur an Angel I'm Just Particles”, Shares New Song “Cinnamon”
Los Angeles-based New Zealand singer-songwriter BENEE has announced her upcoming sophomore album “Ur an Angel I'm Just Particles” will be released on November 7, 2025.
The album is her first LP in five years since the 2020 debut album “Hey U X” and comprises 12 tracks.
BENEE said of the album, “I’ve been working on this for about three years now, and I’m so happy to finally be releasing my second album! I worked so hard on this and had a really clear story for the album. Over time, it really started to make sense, and I’m so proud of it-it means the world to me!”
From the album, she released a new song “Cinnamon” on August 27, 2025.
The song is the fourth single off of the album, following “Sad Boiii”, “Animal”, and “Off The Rails”.
She co-wrote the song with producer Ryan Raines. The accompanying music video was directed by Keith Herron, who also directed the video for “Animal”.- BENEE said of the song, “I wrote ‘Cinnamon’ with my friend Ryan Raines, who is an incredible producer. We made it about a year ago, and I have loved the song from the start. I’m so stoked to be sharing it with the world, it means a lot to me. I wrote it about moving to LA and feeling a little bit lost in the chaos, like everything was falling apart. It felt like nothing was working. The chorus is quite ethereal and a nice let go for me. I thought, ‘Well even if everything around me has turned to shit, I’m going to stay sweet, still be kind, and attract the right kind of people.’ I got my friend Sora to play the cello in the bridge, which I LOVE. I cry sometimes when I listen to that part. And it’s such a fun song to perform live!”
