Hatchie Releases New Song “Only One Laughing”
Australian singer-songwriter Hatchie released the second single called “Only One Laughing” from her upcoming third studio album “Liquorice” on October 8, 2025, following the lead single “Lose It Again”.
The album is set to be released on November 7, 2025.
She co-wrote the song with her bandmate-slash-longtime partner Joe Agius, who also co-produced the track with Melina Duterte.
The accompanying music video was filmed at Luna Park in Melbourne.
The track features Stella Mozgawa on drums.
Hatchie said of the song, “I wrote ‘Only One Laughing’ to air my frustrations with the state of the world and the position I found myself in at the time (early 2023). I wanted a rollicking song that felt like you were struggling to keep up with me basically ranting about the lack of control I felt over my life.”- The new album comprises 11 tracks, which Hatchie recorded with producer Melina Duterte at Duterte's home studio. It is her first album in three years since the 2022 album “Giving The World Away”.
Hatchie said of the album, “This album feels like the culmination of everything I’ve wanted to do with this project since I first started it. I focused on the finer details of the trajectory of love found and lost, inspired by my favourite tragic romance films. I’ve never felt more aligned with an album.” -
