Bird Releases New Song “The Film”
London-based singer-songwriter Janie Price, aka Bird will release her upcoming EP “Strange as Folk” this fall.
From the EP, she released the first single called “The Film” on September 12, 2025.
The track was written during the quiet solitude of the COVID lockdown, drawing deeply from her experience in her home city of London.
She kept the original vocal recorded with a cheap Rhode desk mic in a rented room in Italy. And then she recorded the rest in Nashville and Texas earlier this year.
The track was written and produced by Bird, with production by Pete Davis.
Bird said of the song, “'The Film' is about the inevitable void that we can step into from time to time and how this can be triggered by something as simple as watching a film and the memories and emotions that can conjure up... It's also essentially about that gap between expectation and reality, and how beautiful and painful that space can be.”- The new EP “Strange as Folk” is the follow-up to the EP “Heads Or Tales” released back in June, and will release alongside her directorial debut-a short documentary about Roy Orbison titled “You Found A Friend in Elvis”.
