samxemma Releases New Song “HE'S SO GROSS”
Manchester-based electronic music duo samxemma, consisting of Sam Cooper and Emma Kirsch, released a new song “HE'S SO GROSS” on August 8, 2025.
The song is the follow-up to “GOSSIP GIRL”, which was released last month.
Both songs will appear on their upcoming sophomore EP “Hot People Make Hot Music”, which is set to be released on August 21, 2025.
The track was inspired by a very grim real man, who is married, three kids, lying through his teeth.
It was written by Emma Kirsch, and Sam Cooper, who also produced the track.
Emma Kirsch said of the song, “My friend was seeing some guy from her gym who gave her all these extravagant gifts, only to find out he’s married with 3 daughters. He was short and ugly too. HE’S SO GROSS is about most men I’ve interacted with. The good ones get it.”- The new EP comprises 5 tracks, produced by Sam Cooper. The project moves through lust, infidelity, burnout and girlhood trauma with glittered precision.
Emma Kirsch told DORK about the EP, “Each song is its own world. We didn’t write any of these songs with the intention of putting them together; we just got lucky that they all fit into a neat 5-track EP. I’m just basing each track off different films or TV shows that I think fit. So far, I’m happy with it.” -
