Vance Joy Returns With New Song “Divine Feelings”
Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy returned with his brand new song “Divine Feelings” on September 3, 2025.
The song is the first half from his upcoming double A-side single “Divine Feelings/Fascination in the Dark”, which is set to be released in October 2025.
It is his first solo music in three years since the 2022 album “In Our Own Sweet Time”.
As the single, the track follows the collaborative song Wherever You Are with Australian-New Zealand electronic music duo Shouse, which was released back in June.
Vance Joy co-wrote she song with longtime collaborator Dave Bassett and recorded it in Barcelona. The track is about first crossing paths with someone life-changing.
The song is accompanied by the W.A.M. Bleakley-directed music video, which is an homage to a modern-day, Aussie Bonnie and Clyde. The video was filmed in Mount Isa and Cloncurry in Western Queensland, staring Erana James and Tom Wilson.- Director W.A.M. Bleakley said of the video, “We shot the videos in Mount Isa and Cloncurry in Western Queensland - not only do they have a desert/ Americana vibe they also offered us consistent weather that had a summer feel to it. Generally, not much filming happens in either of these towns, so we were a bit of a novelty and locals really embraced us. Everything we asked for (locations, vehicles etc) we got a 'yes' - whereas in the city you often get a lot of 'no's,' Working with A grade actors like Erana James and Tom Wilson made our job easy. They nailed the performances and were happy to improvise where the story needed ironing out.”
