Ellur Premieres New Song “Missing Kid” on BBC Radio 1
British singer-songwriter Ellur premiered a new song “Missing Kid” on BBC Radio 1's Future Artists with Sian Eleri.
The song is her first music, following the EP “God Help Me Now”, which was released back in January.
She first performed the song at SXSW 2025 in Austin in March 2025.
It was written by Ella Megan McNamara and produced by Joel Johnston.
The accompanying music video was directed by Sarah Oglesby.
Ellur said of the song, “‘Missing Kid’ is about how I observe the people in my life. I sometimes feel like I’m just copying what everyone else is doing, simply because I don’t know what I’m ‘supposed to’ do.”- Ellur told Sian Eleri about the song, “It's kind of all about like me getting to adulthood and feeling like a kid lost in a supermarket looking for their mum. Just like, how adulthood feels, like it's kind of thrown at you, rather than this being this gradual thing that happens. So I just thought, 'Well, why not?,' write a song about that feeling. That's kind of what I do for a job.”

She said of the video, “That just is me, pretty much. We managed to get her in tiny me. She was great. Honestly, she just like, I've wanted to, I've had the idea for so long to kind of because a lot of my songs, when I'm writing for my inner child, and a lot of what I do is all about my inner child. Like I've had this idea forever of doing a video where it's me and the younger version of myself interacting with each other. And I just felt like that. This one was kind of the perfect one, really, because it was all about how my inner child like you. When you feel fear, it's your inner child, isn't it? So I think like that fear of getting to adulthood, that's my inner child being I don't know what I'm doing.”
