The Dirty Nil Releases New Song “Fail in Time”
Hamilton-based rock band The Dirty Nil, consisting of Luke Bentham (vocals/guitar) and Kyle Fisher (drums), will release their upcoming fifth studio album “The Lash” this Friday (July 25th) via Dine Alone Records.
It is their first album in two years since the 2023 album “Free Rein to Passions”.
From the album, the band released a new song “Fail in Time” on July 10, 2025.
The song is the fourth and final pre-release single from the album, following “Rock N' Roll Band”, “Spider Dream”, and “Gallop of the Hounds”.
It was written by Kyle Fisher and Luke Bentham. Produced by Vince Soliveri.
The band lead singer Luke Bentham said of the song, “When true joy enters your life, you know it's got a return ticket to wherever it came from. I wrote the chorus of the song first and wanted to make the verses as triumphant as possible - we even got an 'I Think You Should Leave' reference into the second. Then we hit the pre-chorus where happiness begins to fade. The chorus is about knowing it's over... that little spark is gone. [Engineer] Vince [Solivari] insisted we put a hardcore breakdown in at the end and I'm glad we listened to him.”- The new album comprises 10 tracks, produced by Vince Soliveri.
During a trip to the Vatican, Luke Bentham found inspiration in some of its forgotten art.
He said of the album, “I was in a very dusty part of the basement, and they had these crazy bronze reliefs that were some of the most brutal things I’ve ever seen. There was a particular one called The Horrors of War. It was two guys fighting over a knife. That image ended up guiding a lot of this record.” - source : Apple Music
