Jessica Mauboy Releases New Song “While I Got Time”
Australian singer-songwriter Jessica Mauboy released a new song While I Got Time” on August 1, 2025.
The song is her first release as an independent artist via her own label Jamally.
Jessica Mauboy left Warner Music Australia in 2024 and launched Jamally this year.
Jessica Mauboy said in a statement, “This is the start of a new chapter for me - not just as a singer or performer, but as a storyteller and businesswoman too. Jamally, I felt like a natural evolution. It lets me work with people I trust and chase what lights me up.”
Also, the track was used on the Seven network’s “Home and Away” during the emotional farewell of Irene Roberts, played by Lynne McGranger.
Jessica Mauboy co-wrote with her longtime collaborator and producer PJ Harding.- Jessica Mauboy said of the song, “This one came from a place of reflection and release. PJ Harding & I wrote it during a moment where I was thinking about what I want to leave behind, and what I want to lean into while I’m still here. It’s about letting go of the past with grace, honouring where I’ve been, and stepping into the unknown with open arms. Cherish the moments in life all the big and small, while we got time.”

She will perform the song at the National Indigenous Music Awards in Darwin on August 9, 2025, where she will also be inducted to the NIMAs Hall of Fame.
Jessica Mauboy told News.com.au about the NIMAs Hall of Fame, “I did think about how do I as an artist who’s still making music, still trying to discover where my place is, receive such recognition, so high in the music industry, when you look at the other Hall of Famers, the giants. Have I done enough? To get into the Hall of Fame, you are meant to have done everything. I am deeply humbled and I keep thinking about how I’ve always gone into music doing it for community. The NIMAs was the birth of who I am as an artist. This is going to make me work even more harder. I’m not finished, I want to go to the ends of the earth with music.”
