New York-based British singer-songwriter Devonté Hynes, aka Blood Orange returned with a new song “The Field” on June 26, 2025.

On the track, he worked with British post-punk band The Durutti Column, New York-based composer Tariq Al-Sabir, American singer-songwriter Caroline Polachek and Canadian singer-songwriter Daniel Caesar.
The track samples The Durutti Column's 1998 “Sing to Me”.
It was written by Ashton Simmonds, Caroline Polachek, Devonté Hynes, Keir Stewart, Tariq Al-Sabir, and Vini Reilly. Produced by Devonté Hynes.
The accompanying music video was directed by Devonté Hynes himself.- Devonté Hynes said of the song, “A song about deep breaths in country fields & the ones we miss when we close our eyes. Thank you to my wonderful friends that helped me get this over the line. Not just musically or with the video. A year ago I was lost and overcome with grief, and did not see a way forward in creating. So thank you to everyone that got me over the finish line. Video directed & edited by me.”
