Jack Garratt Releases New Song “Higher”
British singer-songwriter Jack Garratt will release his third studio album “Pillars” on August 15, 2025 via Cooking Vinyl.
From the album, he released the third single called “Higher” on July 4, 2025, following ”Ready! Steady! Go!” and ”Catherine Wheel”.
The track was written and produced by Jack Garratt and Johan Hugo. He recorded it at Johan Hugo's Margate studio.
On the track, Jack Garratt delve even deeper into his emotive songwriting and sonic experimentation - blending heart-on-sleeve lyricism with dynamic, shape-shifting production.
Jack Garratt said of the song, “I wrote Higher as a plea. It's about recognising the ways I've walked willingly into heartbreak - how it's not always about the people I've loved, but the patterns I've chosen. It's me asking someone not to build me up when they know they won't stay. It's vulnerable, naïve, human.”- He continued, “Johan had this gorgeous and emotive progression and I'd been diving back into Son Lux, who inspired me to write my first record. This sparse, evocative melody just emerged. And because I was coming off my club EP, I instinctively put a house beat under it… but it needed more chaos. On day two, we swapped in a breakbeat - and suddenly the song started running away with itself.”

The new album comprises 11 tracks, which were produced by Jack Garratt and recorded in his North London studio.
It is his first album in five years since the 2020 album “Love, Death & Dancing”.
The album is a bold, unflinching exploration of love in all its forms - romantic, platonic, and self-love - woven into a tapestry of lush melodies, infectious beats, and heartfelt storytelling.
He said of the album, “This is the most authentic record I've made yet. I've gone through years of confusion and self-discovery to get here.”
