Bon Jovi & Jelly Roll Team Up for New Version of “Living Proof”
American rock band Bon Jovi, consisting of Jon Bon Jovi (vocals/rhythm guitar), David Bryan (keyboards), Tico Torres (drums), Hugh McDonald (bass), Phil X (guitar), Everett Bradley (percussion) and John Shanks (rhythm guitar), teamed up with American country music singer-songwriter Jelly Roll to release a new version of “Living Proof” on September 19, 2025.
The song is taken from Bon Jovi's upcoming reimagined album “Forever (Legendary Edition)”, which is set to be released on October 24, 2025.
The original version of the song was featured on their sixteenth studio album “Forever”, which was released last June.
According to the press release, the collaboration between Bon Jovi and Jelly Roll was born from a chance meeting at the 2024 MusiCares Person of the Year Gala.
The track was written and produced by John Shanks and Jon Bon Jovi.
The band frontman Jon Bon Jovi underwent intensive vocal cord surgery in 2024. The reimagined album was inspired by his surgery and subsequent rehab.
The album comprises 14 tracks, featuring collaborations with James Bay, Robbie Williams, Jelly Roll, Jason Isbell, Ryan Tedder, Billy Falcon, The War & Treaty, Joe Elliott, Lainey Wilson, Avril Lavigne, Marcus King, Bruce Springsteen, and Carin León.- Jon Bon Jovi said of the album, “This album is more than just a collection of collaborations; it is an album borne out of necessity. My vocal cord surgery and subsequent rehab was a well-documented journey that played out while releasing Forever in June 2024. I was singing well enough in the studio for the recording, but the vocal demands and rigours of touring were still out of reach for me.”
He continued, “Without the ability to tour or promote an album we were all very proud of, I decided to call on some friends to help me in my time of need. All are great singers, artists, and also just great people.
