Lucy Dacus Releases Two New Songs “Bus Back To Richmond” & “More Than Friends”
American singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus released the dual singles “Bus Back To Richmond” and “More Than Friends” on August 8, 2025.
The two new singles are available on limited edition Vintage Bottle-colored 7-inch vinyl, with only 2,000 copies being pressed.
Two songs follow her fourth studio album “Forever Is A Feeling”, which was released back in March.
Both songs were written by Lucy Dacus. “Bus Back To Richmond” was produced by Lucy Dacus, Melina Duterte, and Sarah Tudzin. “More Than Friends” was produced by Lucy Dacus and Blake Mills.
She first performed the songs on her Home Video tour in 2021, but asked that the audience not film or upload it.
Along with the release of two songs, Lucy Dacus announced she did update the artwork for “Forever Is A Feeling” to reflect the original concept she had in mind.- Lucy Dacus said of the songs, “I wrote Bus Back To Richmond and More Than Friends years ago, they were the first two songs meant for Forever Is A Feeling. By the time it was done, it didn't feel like they fit. You may have seen me play either of them at shows over the years- thank you for not filming them at my request, I guess at this point if you actually did, you can fess up.”
She added, “My arbitrary idea at the beginning of making this record was to write about falling into and out of love without using the word love at all. I broke it a few times (3 songs I think?) but these two fit the rule.” -
Lucy Dacus said of the update album artwork, “Thank you to Jon Henry for helping me see my original idea for the cover of Forever Is A Feeling. There wasn't time to make this image at first, but it never left my mind. From here on, I'm changing the album art to this because... I want to and I can! Thank you as ever to Will St. John for the painting, and thank you to Lowy 1907 for the beautiful frame and letting us take photos in the shop.”
