Rhys Lewis Announces New EP “Stranger”, Shares Title Track
London-based singer-songwriter Rhys Lewis has announced his upcoming EP “Stranger” will be released on October 17, 2025.
The EP is his first project in two years since the 2023 album “Corner Of The Sky” and comprises 5 tracks.
From the EP, he released the title track “Stranger” on August 8, 2025.
The song is the second dingle off of the EP, following “So Long Ago” released back in June.
It was written and produced by Rhys Lewis. The accompanying animated music video was directed by Traceloops.
Rhys Lewissaid of the song, “I wrote it after two whirlwind dates with someone last summer, in July. And she just left this really vivid, amazing impression on me. And I came away from those dates kind of feeling like I knew her really well, but also had no idea who she was. And so the day after, she actually flew back to where she lives, which is not in London or the UK. And I was thinking about her all day whilst I was in a songwriting session for someone else. And then at the end of that session, when the artist I was working with left. I just kind of immediately came to my guitar and I had this lyric of like you're still a stranger. You're still a stranger. But I feel like I know you sort of thing. And I had that in my head, so I just kind of started every line with you're still a stranger, and then listed off all the things I knew about her. Because it was this weird feeling of feeling like you know someone really well, but you've only just met them. And being slightly infatuated by the version of them that you've gotten to know. So that's kind of what the song's about. And it just fell out in like an hour and a half.”- He continued, “I just kind of listed off all the things that I'd come to know about this person. Things that were trivial and casual, and things that were deep and serious, and I love that they all kind of coexist in this song. And how it kind of expresses that feeling sometimes, when you're. You know, you come away from a first date feeling really connected to someone, but also a little fearful of getting too attached to that version of who they are, because you don't know if that's a real person, if that really exists, or if it's like a romanticized version of something you created, or they've created, cause we all kind of do the dance in that situation with our best feet forward.”

He added, “So that's kind of what the song's about that weird limbo you find yourself in, being infatuated with someone that you've only just met. So that's what the song's about. There's a lot of lyrics. I'm really worried about playing it live, cause I'm going to forget so many. But I can't wait for you to hear it.”
He said of the EP, “Spent a week down at Middle Farm in Devon making music with a bunch of very good eggs. It sounds dramatic but it was a genuinely live-changing experience. We made a collaborative album in 5 days, all tracked to tape, live and alive. New dimensions unlocked for me, grateful to everyone involved!” - source : Apple Music
