American Authors Releases New Song “Race Car”
Brooklyn-based alt-rock band American Authors, consisting of Zac Barnett (vocals), Dave Rublin (bass) and Matt Sanchez (drums), released a new song “Race Car” on August 8, 2025.
The song follows “Tumble Down (The Whistle Song)” and “This Little Light of Mine”, which were released in April and June 2025 respectively.
It was written by David Rublin, Matthew Sanchez, and Zachary Barnett. Produced by American Authors and Matt Sanchez, as with the previous two singles.
The band lead singer Zac Barnett said of the song, “'Race Car' is a song about momentary love & falling for someone fast even though you know it’s only going to last a season. It’s that intense feeling of passion you find on a trip or vacation only for it to disintegrate once you get back to reality.”
The band added, “If you’re looking for a feel good indie rock soundtrack with a strong message of hope, then we’re the band for you.”- The band shared on social media, “The music industry has changed an insane amount over the last 10 years and our band has seen it it firsthand. From singing to end of the world'd biggest record labels and having a number one hit song to choosing to go independent at the start of COVOD we've always done our best to adapt with the times. We learned from our favorite songwriters we got better at pudding our own music and we're currently releasing our third album that we wrote, produced and released completely on our own. Hasn't always been easy but I'm just really thankful to write music that I love with the people that I love the most. We can't wait for you to our new song 'Race Car'.”
