YONAKA Returns With New Song “Problems”
Brighton-based alt-rock band YONAKA, consisting of Theresa Jarvis (vocals), George Edwards (guitar), and Alex Crosby (bass), returned with a new song “Problems” on September 26, 2025.
The song is their first music in over a year since the 2024 single “Fight For The Right”.
Also, it is the first single off of their upcoming sophomore album, which is yet to be announced.
The album is the first release as an independent artist.
The track was written by Alex Crosby, George Werbrouck-Edwards, and Theresa Jarvis. Produced by Theresa Jarvis, Alex Crosby, and Dimitri Tikovoi.
The accompanying music video was directed by Samuel Douek.
The band lead singer Theresa Jarvis said of the song, “'Problems' is about when love starts to turn a little bit ugly. And it was the only song that could open up this new era of YONAKA.”
She added, “This record's about love but it's not all gooey – it's the dirty bits and the harsh bits that happen to everyone whether you admit it or no.”- Theresa Jarvis told Kerrang! about the song, “Problems had to open up the album because this was the first song, when we wrote it, where we went, 'Oh, this is what the album is going to be!' It has that perfect balance of reeling you in at the beginning, when it's just the bass and the vocal, and then hitting you with the chaos of the chorus.”
She continued, “It got to a point where it was time for us to make a second album and I was like, 'If this is the last thing we ever make, this needs to be the fucking best thing.' I really approached it from that feeling, because you just never know what will happen. I wanted to make something incredible. And this is fucking brilliant, it's the best we could have done.” -
