Jacob Collier Covers The Beach Boys' “Keep An Eye On Summer”
British singer-songwriter Jacob Collier released a cover of American rock band The Beach Boys' “Keep An Eye On Summer” on August 20, 2025.
The original version of the song was featured on The Beach Boys's fifth studio album “Shut Down Volume 2”, which was released in 1964.
Also, the song was included on their compilation album “Keep an Eye on Summer - The Beach Boys Sessions 1964” released in 2014.
The track was written by Bob Norman, Brian Wilson, and Mike Love. The cover version was produced by Jacob Collier.
The cover version is accompanied by an animated music video, which was animated by Dávid Pogran.
The band co-founder and lead singer Brian Wilson died in his sleep in his Beverly Hills home on June 11, 2025, at the age of 82.
The cover version of the song pays tribute to Brian Wilson.- Jacob Collier said in a statement, “I have loved this song since the moment I first heard it as a youngster. On Summer Solstice last year, in June of 2024, I spontaneously decided to record a rendition of the song, for fun; it took me around four hours or so. This is it, in its rough, unfettered form. In lieu of Brian's passing a few months ago, it felt right to share it with the world, as an homage to him, as this summer comes to a close.”

He shared on social media, “My rendition of the Beach Boys song - is out now! I recorded this one afternoon last year, on Summer Solstice, and it felt right to share it in lieu of Brian's passing, as an ode to the universe of inspiration he's given me. The video was crafted by the inimitably special Dávid Pogran.”
