Sekou Releases New Song “Never Gunna Give You Up”
London-based singer-songwriter Sekou released a new song “Never Gunna Give You Up” along with a music video on October 3, 2025.
The song is the second single of 2025, following “Catching Bodies” released back in August.
It was inspired by the ’70s and ’80s Motown music. Sekou sampled American singer-songwriter Barry White 1973 “Never, Never Gonna Give Ya Up”.
The track was written by Barry White, Jeff 'Gitty' Gitelman, Scott Harris, and Theron Thomas. Produced by Jeff 'Gitty' Gitelman and Theron Thomas.
The music video was directed by Relta.
Sekou said of the song, “‘Never Gunna Give You Up’ is about freedom, but also that feeling of finding what’s yours and not letting anyone else have it.”- He added, “I’ve never felt so much freedom recently in my life and uno what I’m so happy right now this song was the first song I recorded for this new era and it really made me figure out who I was. I wanna dance. I wanna sang and I just wanna be my fuc*king self thank you for all your love & support recently this is just the beginning of everything!!!!! Thank to everyone who worked insane to make this video with a 3 day turnaround.”
