JADE Releases Debut Solo Album “THAT'S SHOWBIZ BABY!”
British singer-songwriter and former Little Mix, JADE released her debut solo album “THAT'S SHOWBIZ BABY!” on September 12, 2025 via RCA Records.
The album comprises 14 tracks, which she recorded in Los Angeles. Swedish singer-songwriter Tove Lo, British singer-songwriter RAYE, British singer-songwriter MNEK, British songwriter Lostboy, and British hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks' Jordan Stephens contributed the songs.
Produced by Cirkut, Dave Hamelin, Goldfingers, GRADES, inverness, Johan Salomonsson, Jonah Christian, LOSTBOY, Mike Sabath, OZGO, Ramera Abraham, Starsmith, Stephen Mykal and TimFromTheHouse.
JADE said of the album, “That's Showbiz Baby! is all the versions of myself in one record - my ups and downs in the music industry, navigating my personal relationships and inner demons within it. Pop girliness inspired by all of my musical influences growing up.”- JADE told Apple Music about the album, “There's a lot of songs on the record that have that same experimental vibe. I have a few of the more straight-down-the-line, poppy songs on there, but peppered in with the chaos that is my brain. If there are any darker topics that are personal to me that I write about, then I always give it a bit of a humor to it. It's been fun as a songwriter being able to finally write more personal concepts and explore that and show people exactly who I am.”

“Angel Of My Dreams”
“What I'm going for is a pop punch to the face. I want people to be like 'oh my god, I didn't expect that' – but then want to listen again. I didn't want to do a safe first single, that was really important to me. I'm setting the tone of who I am as an artist on my own. I want people to hear it and be like 'what the f*** is that song?'. My worst nightmare is for someone to hear my song and go 'that's nice'. I'm so proud of it and I can say that with chest.”
“IT girl”
“'IT girl' was written by myself, JHart, Lauren Aquilina and produced by Cirkut and Lostboy. I've described this before as Angel's c**nty little sister – there's no hidden meaning or beating around the bush with this one. This is my 🖕🏽 to any man who's wronged me in this industry and serves as a reminder of my worth 💅🏽 I hope you can all channel this energy when you're listening.”
“FUFN (Fuck You For Now)”
“I had this concept I've written down. It stemmed from actually having a dream about my boyfriend cheating on me and then waking up the next day fuming. So that's how it kind of began and then me and Raye brainstormed about how to make it more about a big argument you have [when] you know it's not the end but you really want to let them have it in that moment. It's quite relatable, we're all guilty of being fiery and arguing and then afterwards being, 'Maybe, it wasn't that big of a deal'.”
“Plastic Box”
“'Plastic Box', is about that irrational and toxic insecurity within us when we think about our partner's previous relationships, even though we know everyone has a past. It's a happy-sad pop song and one of my favourite songs I've ever written.”
“Midnight Cowboy”
“I promised the fans wouldn't have to wait too long for more music...so I think it's 'bout time for the Midnight Cowboy. Written in 2022 by Raye and I, produced by Jonah Christian and featuring a guest moment from the one and only Ncuti Gatwa - Midnight Cowboy is a sultry, understated bass heavy bop about owning your sexuality and your talents that come with it.”
“Fantasy”
“'Fantasy' is a love song that I wrote with dream team Pablo Bowman and Mike Sabath about feeling safe enough with your partner to shamelessly explore your fantasies! We wrote this the day after 'AOMD' was written, and from then on I always knew it would be the second single. I can't wait for my fans to experience more of my musical world.”
“Unconditional”
“This song is the last song I wrote, actually, for the record. I did it with Mike Sabbath and Pablo Blowman and it's a song about my mum and growing up with her lupus all my life and her being in the hospital and it's a song about wishing I could fix someone with my love but instead of being too dreary, it's got a very heavy sort of disco energy to it, I remember that day, the references were like Donna Summer meets MGMT. It's emerging, and that's where I think is where I strive, it's emerging a Frankestein of sounds to create what is the JADE of it all.”
“Self Saboteur” via NME
“'Self Saboteur' was one of the first songs that I wrote for the album and it managed to still make it. So, I think that speaks volume for like how good I think it is. It was originally a lot more stripped back actually, but that that song is about when I first met Jordan. And I think prior to Jordan, I really did have a habit of just like ruining something or like running away before it like got good. 'Self Saboteur' is kind of about that feeling of knowing something feels amazing, but you're very scared of it in case it goes wrong and proves you right sort of thing. So, I really do love that one and I love what it became.”
“Lip Service” via NME
“It was actually Tove Lo. She started the song. We were in a session together and she played me it. It didn't have all the lyrics and melodies yet. I just loved the concept. I loved how it sounds all innocent, but it's filth! But the juice line, even Jordan [Stephens], when I played it, was like, 'Are you really gonna say that?' I was, like, 'It's just a bit of fun!”
“Headache” via Capital Buzz
“I think [British artists are] not afraid to for to sound a bit rough around the edges and 'Headache' is literally just a headache of a song. A complimentary headache.”
“Natural at Disaster” via Capital Buzz
“There's big vocals in that. What I love about 'Natural at Disaster' is it starts very low. There's the head voice stuff, there's riffs, there's runs, there's big belt. You're really getting a bit of everything with that song. So I'm very excited to perform it live.”
“Glitch” via NME
“It's about my relationship with myself. It's me fighting myself. All my life, I've had different twitches or ticks, and, through various traumas, I grew an eye one. The song 'Glitch' actually stemmed from me wishing that I didn't have that tick. But then it evolved into being more about just anxiety and battling your inner demons.”
“Before You Break My Heart” via NME
“You have to be careful when you're sampling something that iconic ['Stop! In the Name of Love']. But I think what's really lovely about 'Before You Break My Heart,' couldn't call it 'Stop' for copyright reasons. You can call it what you want. I think what's really special about that is the chorus vocal is actually me as a child singing it, so, the song's about me sort of not forgetting my younger self and how like far we've come together, not losing sight of that in this show biz world. And I wrote it with Pablo Borman and Mike Sabbath. When I was showing Mike loads of different like childhood videos of me singing in like competitions or at talent shows um and I played and me dressed as Diana Ross singing 'Stop! In the Name of Love' and that just inspired the song. Very low quality but I think that's the magic of it [It being taped by her mom]. I think it was important for me on the album to have just one song that really fed that part of myself. Um, and it is such an iconic song and I think because of that I almost I didn't want to make it too experimental, like it is what it is. It's obviously very obvious that that's the sample and we run with it throughout the whole song and and sort of honor a homage to Dina Ross 'cause she is my favorite artist of all time.”
“Silent Disco” via Capital Buzz
“'Silent Disco' is one of my favourite songs. For me, it was like, what would I want as an ultimate love song. If I ever got married, what would I envision? That's why you hear that chorus beginning as if the doors are opening and it still has that kind of old school disco element. I think it's a perfect last song for the album.” - source : Apple Music
