  • Rye LaChance Releases New Song “Bad For You”

  • Nashville-based singer-songwriter Rye LaChance released a new song “Bad For You” on August 15, 2025.

The song is the follow-up to “My Father and Me”, which was released back in June.
It was written by Eva Arnby, Rylie LaChance, and Matt Martin, who also produced the track.
The track is a beautiful ballad, reflective of her introspective experience.

Rye LaChance said of the song, “If you asked me what the song is specifically about I don't think I'd have an answer. The story pulls from so many different perspectives and experiences. Some of my favorite songs to write are ones that might not be personal to me, but may really resonate with someone else out there. Usually I write my songs alone like a total hermit, but this one was much more collaborative. I had gotten a bit wine tipsy at 11am with my now good friend Eva, who at the time was a stranger I had met that morning. She came in with this lovely guitar part and she, Matt and I just babbled on about life until the lyrics sort of fell into place in my head. It sort of pulls from all of our perspectives which makes it feel really special.”
  • She continued, “'Bad For You' felt like it spilled out so naturally that within 4 hours we had written the entire song and recorded a demo. It was my first real collaborative writing experience, and it was fun, but the demo was tucked away and I never intended on using it for my own personal writing project.”

She added, “In April, on my way to crash Eva's quiet dinner date at Soho House (sorry Eva), she played me the demo and it was the first time I'd heard it since the day we wrote it. I immediately knew we had something special and that I would've been dumb not to release this song. I hope it feels just as special to you and that you can enjoy it over and over again the same way we have.”
