Agnes Releases New Song “EGO”
Swedish singer-songwriter Agnes released a new song “EGO” on September 5, 2025.
The song is the third single off of her upcoming sixth studio album “BEAUTIFUL MADNESS”, following “BALENCIAGA COVERED EYES” and “MILK”.
The album is expected to be released in 2025.
She dropped a music video for the song, directed by Swim Club, on September 17, 2025.
The track was written by Hannah Wilson, Salem Al Fakir, Vincent Pontare, AgnesFrans Bryngel, and Kerstin Ljungström. Produced by Vincent Pontare, Salem Al Fakir, and Frans Bryngel.
Agnes said of the song, “'EGO' was the first song I wrote for my new album. With this record, I wanted to reveal more sides of myself and highlight the opposites that can live within us. It's not about being good or bad, we're all far more complex than the labels we give each other.”
She said of the video, “We wanted to play with contrast, speed and stillness, recklessness and control, weirdness and power, holding on and letting go. I love mixing things up and playing with opposites in every detail: in styling, glossy against matte, chaos against precision, and we carried that into the choreography too.”- Agnes told Scene about the song, “EGO is inspired by conversations about self-discovery and Eckhart Tolle's lyrics about the ego. I wanted to capture the feeling that it is only when we dare to let go of control that life can surprise us.”
She continued, “My songs and lyrics are always a side effect of what I'm going through in life and where my thoughts are, or what I need in the moment. With this new album I felt a strong need to go a bit more raw and unpolished.” -
