Colbie Caillat Releases New Song “Kinda Single” featuring Lee Brice
Nashville-based singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat joined forces with American country music singer-songwriter Lee Brice to release a new song “Kinda Single” on August 29, 2025.
This marks the first collaboration between Colbie Caillat and Lee Brice.
The song is the fifth single off of her upcoming eighth studio album “This Time Around”, which is set to be released on September 26, 2025.
It was written by Colbie Caillat, Eric Arjes, Jimmy Robb, and insLee Brice. Produced by Jimmy Robbins and Eric Arjes.
The accompanying music video was directed by Brenton Giesey, as with her previous music video for “Live Without”.
Colbie Caillat said of the song, “I’ve wanted to do a song with Lee for so many years - he has one of my favorite voices, with such unique inflections and heart in everything he sings. Writing this together with him and the guys was so much fun-we even nicknamed ourselves ‘zest and pep’; I’m the lemon zest and he’s the pepper. ‘Kinda Single,’ is about that space between moving on and holding on-when no matter how hard you try to close the door, part of you keeps drifting back. It’s messy, honest, and real, because sometimes love doesn’t fit neatly into all-or-nothing.”- The new album comprises 12 tracks, produced by Eric Arjes and Jimmy Robbins, featuring collaboration with Amos Lee, Chris Young, Colbie Caillat, Gavin DeGraw, Hillary Scott, Jason Mraz, Lee Brice, Maddie & Tae, Maren Morris, Mitchell Tenpenny, Russell Dickerson, Ryan Hurd and Walker Hayes.
It marks her first album in two years since the 2023 album “Along the Way”. Also, it is her first country music duets album.
Colbie Caillat said of the album, “I’ve wanted to revisit some of my older singles for years, but never really carved out the time. My voice has matured a lot since I recorded them in my early 20s, and so has my production style and musical taste. Making them duets felt like a fun way to reimagine the songs and bring in fresh energy through collaborations with some of my favorite artists.” - source : Apple Music
