The Format Announces New Album “Boycott Heaven”, Shares New Song “Holy Roller”
American indie rock band The Format, consisting of Nate Ruess (vocals/guitar) and Sam Means (keyboards), is back. The band has announced their upcoming third studio album “Boycott Heaven” will be released on January 23, 2026 via their own The Vanity Label.
This marks their first album in two decade since the 2006 album “Dog Problems”.
The album comprises 11 tracks, produced by Brendan O'Brien, who also played bass. Matt Chamberlain joined on drums.
The band said, “Boycott Heaven, our first album in 20 years, will be available January 23. Produced by Brendan O'Brien.”
From the album, the band released the first single called “Holy Roller” on October 6, 2025.
It was written by Nate Ruess and Sam Means. Produced by Brendan O'Brien.
The accompanying music video was directed by Vanessa Pla and shot on 35mm film.
The band first performed the song at the 2025 Arizona State Fair in Phoenix last month.
Also, the band appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform the song on October 6, 2025.- Boycott Heaven track list:
