Alice Merton Announces New Album “Visions”, Shares New Song “Ignorance is Bliss”
London-based British-Canadian singer-songwriter Alice Merton has announced her upcoming third studio album “Visions” will be released on January 16, 2026.
It marks her first album in four years since the 2022 album “S.I.D.E.S.”.
The album comprises 13 tracks, produced by Alice Merton and Jennifer Decilveo.
From the album, she unveiled the first single called “Ignorance is Bliss” on September 25, 2025.
She wrote and recorded the song with British pop rock band Bastille's Dan Smith, Paul Whalley, and producer Jennifer Decilveo at Flóki Studios in Iceland earlier this year, where recently Canadian singer-songwriter Justin Bieber recorded his latest album.
The accompanying music video was directed by Alice Merton herself and filmed in Iceland.- Alice Merton said of the song, “Everyone has always said to me: you probably shouldn't drive if you're always daydreaming. I have always found it hard to focus so I was told by everybody that I will never get my license. Yes I am a massive daydreamer. My head ist mostly in the clouds, and so I was always scared that everyone was right about me. That they knew better. Turns out they don't. Turns out if you think you can do smth you probably can and should do it. I wrote this song with the mindset of ignoring the outside voices and focusing on what I think I can do with my life. Be ignorant to the people that hold you back, that make you feel like you can't do something you know you can.”
