The Quality Of Mercury Releases New Song “Heaven's Gate”

Pennsylvania-based alt-rock singer-songwriter Jeremiah Rouse, aka The Quality Of Mercury will release his upcoming sophomore album “The Voyage” on October 24, 2025.
This marks his first album in nine years since the 2016 album “Transmission”.
The album comprises 8 tracks, an adventurous journey, with each track offering a different terrain of feeling: exhilaration, anxiety, longing, and introspection.
From the album, he released a new song “Heaven's Gate” on September 24, 2025.
The song is the second single off, following “Ganymede” released last month. The track balances the expansive feel of space-rock with vibrant pop elements.
It was written and produced by Jeremiah Rouse.- Jeremiah Rouse said of the song, “'Heaven’s Gate' is inspired by the real-life cult of the same name, but it’s not a song about tragedy; it’s a song about longing. I saw myself in their story: the endless search for something beyond this world, the gaze fixed on the stars, waiting for a sign, a savior, an escape.”
He continued, “I’ve spent so much of my life looking up, hoping for divine intervention, for something greater to lift me out of the weight of this world. Whether that’s God, aliens, or something unnamed, 'Heaven’s Gate' is about the hope that there is something out there. Something bigger, kinder, more meaningful than what we know here on Earth. This isn’t a song about giving up. It’s about believing there’s more.” -
