James Morrison Premieres New Song “Cry Your Tears On Me” on BBC Radio 2
British singer-songwriter James Morrison premiered a new song “Cry Your Tears On Me” on BBC Radio 2 The Scott Mills Breakfast Show.
The song is the fourth single off of his upcoming sixth studio album “Fight Another Day”, which is set to be released on October 3, 2025, following “Little Wings”, “The Man Who Can't Be Loved”, and “Fight Another Day”.
It was written by James Morrison, Kjetil Mørland, and Paul Meehan. Produced by Mark Taylor, Paul Meehan, and Kjetil Mørland.
James Morrison said of the song, “I wrote this song for a friend - it's about the breakdown of a relationship, when things have ended but there's still love and care between two people. It's that sentiment of saying, 'If you ever need a shoulder to cry on, I'll be here.' I wanted to wrap that emotion in an upbeat, feel-good pop sound with a summery vibe. Even though the story behind it is bittersweet, I think it carries a really warm and positive message.”- The new album comprises 13 tracks and presents all of the heightened emotions and struggles that he has experienced and then captured in his songwriting. Produced by Andy Platts, Mark Taylor, Mørland and Paul Meehan.
It is his first album in six years since the 2019 album “You're Stronger Than You Know”.
James Morrison said of the album, “When I leaned into how I was feeling, that's when the songs started coming. I started writing about what I was going through. My own struggles with myself. Every day being a bit of a battle. Trying to eke the light out after what felt like darkness for ages. I'm really proud of the album in terms of the creative, sonic elements and how I dealt with truthful stuff. But also it's an album of songs that hopefully make you feel better and make you nod your head and stamp your feet and singalong.” - source : BBC Radio 2
