The Bros. Landreth Teams Up with Bonnie Raitt for New Song “Knuckles”
Canadian alt-rock band The Bros. Landreth, consisting of Joey Landreth (vocals/guitar) and David Landreth (bass), teamed up with American singer-songwriter and guitarist Bonnie Raitt to release a new song “Knuckles” on October 8, 2025.
This marks the first collaboration between The Bros. Landreth and Bonnie Raitt.
But Bonnie Raitt recorded a cover of the band's "Made Up Mind" in 2022. Her version won a Grammy for Best Americana Performance in 2023.
The song will appear on their upcoming fourth studio album “Dog Ear”, which is set to be released on November 14, 2025 via Birthday Cake Records.
It was written by Dave Landreth, Joey Landreth, and Roman Clarke. Produced by Joey Landreth, Dave Landreth, Murray Pulver, and Roman Clarke.
The band lead singer Joey Landreth said of the song, “Some relationships will stand the test of time, but a lot don't. Even the good ones can dissolve, fall apart, drift away. Knuckles is about the idea that sometimes being a punching bag is the last kind thing you can do for someone, when it's easier to let yourself take all the lumps than to ask the other person to face things that they aren't ready or willing to.”- The band said of woking with Bonnie Raitt, “Before Bonnie became part of this track, she was already a huge part of our story! We met her a number of years ago - and what started as admiration turned into a friendship and collaboration that we deeply cherish. Long before 'Knuckles' was even a dream, Bonnie was already shaping our musical world covering our song 'Made Up Mind' on her Grammy Winning album. Working with Bonnie was an unforgettable experience. Her musicianship, and instinct elevated this track, and ultimately this album! Seeing her approach this project with so much care, and thought was a real privilege. We love Bonnie Raitt and we LOVE this tune!”

The new album comprises 11 tracks, featuring guest appearances from Bonnie Raitt and Canadian singer-songwriter Begonia.
It is their first album in three years since the 2022 album “Come Morning”
The band said of the album, “These songs kept circling back to ideas of refuge-a lighthouse, a shoreline, a dog-eared page to hold your place. They're tiny prayers for who we want to be for our children, and hopeful ideas about who they might become for their own communities. It's really about trying to figure out what it means to be a consistent force in the lives of the people you care about. Maybe something on this record will get stuck in your head, or take root in your heart... Maybe, just maybe it'll work its way into some little useful corner of your life, in the way that songs sometimes can do.”
