Oswald Slain Premieres New Song “Bucky” on BBC Introducing
Bristol-based rock band Oswald Slain, consisting of Charlie Fitzgerald (vocals/guitar), Rhii Williams (drums), Will Montague (guitar), Chris Axe (bass) and Cydney Brown (acoustic guitar), will release their upcoming debut album “BUCKY” on October 24, 2025.
From the album, the band premiered the album title track “Bucky” on BBC Introducing - The West with James Threlfall.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “Firing Line” and “Have You Got What You Came Here For?”.
It was written by Charlie Fitzgerald, Rhii Williams, and Ryan Rogers, who also produced the track.
The band frontman Charlie Fitzgerald said of the song, “'Bucky' is the title track of the album. It ties the record together as an overall expression. It's a washed out 90's anthem of nostalgia and escapism; A few minutes away from the constant bombardment of modern day life. When people's favourite VHS tapes were worn out of love and connection came softer and slower than it does now. It's a lazy attempt at a cheap holiday. A fuck it all off, delete the lot and be free for a bit kind of tune. Something to bring people together in the moment.”- The debut album comprises 8 tracks, which the the band recorded and produced in-house by producer Ryan Rogers and the band themselves in their DIY self-built home studio.
For the band, the record is a love-letter to their trials and errors, their self and musical exploration.
Charlie Fitzgerald said of the album, “Making this record was a massive turning point in our lives. After being a bit unsure of where things were headed and what we were doing, the days spent recording these songs in our little studio were the moments of clarity we needed to get the ball rolling with something new and creatively exciting.” - source : BBC Music Introducing
