Joyce Manor Announces New Album “I Used To Go To This Bar”, Shares New Song “Well, Whatever It Was”
American punk rock band Joyce Manor, consisting of Barry Johnson (vocals/guitar), Chase Knobbe (guitar) and Matt Ebert (bass), ha announced their upcoming seventh studio album “I Used To Go To This Bar” will be released on January 30, 2026 via Epitaph Records.
The album is their first LP in four years since the 2022 album “40 oz. to Fresno” and comprises 9 tracks.
From the album, the band released a new song “Well, Whatever It Was” on October 7, 2025.
The song is the second off of the album, following “All My Friends Are So Depressed” released back in August.
It was written by Barry Johnson, Chase Knobbe and Matt Ebert. Produced by Brett Gurewitz.
The accompanying music video was directed by Lance Bangs.
The clip is a parody of the British TV show “The Great British Bake Off”, featuring comedians and musicians dressed as British rock stars.- The band lead singer Barry Johnson said of the song, “'Well, Whatever It Was' has got to be one of the most Southern California-sounding songs ever recorded. I hear Jane's Addiction in the verses, Beach Boys / Weezer in the chorus, and RHCP in the outro. It was literally produced by the guy from Bad Religion. Everyone was just firing on all cylinders for this one. Joey Waronker's drumming, TLA's mix, and Lenny Castro's percussion all just sent it to the end zone. This song would go insanely hard in a Shrek film.”
