Geneviève Racette Releases New Song “Common Denominator”
Canadian folk-pop singer-songwriter Geneviève Racette released a new song “Common Denominator” on September 26, 2025.
Along with releasing the song, she has announced an exclusive European EP, which is set be released in 2025, and the deluxe edition of her fourth studio album ”Golden” will be released in January 2026.
The song explores the moment of painful clarity when patterns of manipulation and victimhood are finally revealed for what they are.
It was written by Geneviève Racette and produced by François-Pierre Lue.
The accompanying music video was filmed by Catherine Deslauriers and Steve Gagnon. Edited by Laurie TB.
Geneviève Racette said of the song, “This song means so much to me. Common Denominator is about that moment of clarity when you realize that if every story ends the same way, maybe the problem isn’t everyone else, it’s them. It’s about someone who plays the victim again and again, pointing the finger at their exes, their friends, their family... until you finally see through it. Huge thanks to my creative director Laurie TB for sticking with me since day 1.”- The exclusive European EP brings together some of her most celebrated work, including “From Friends to Strangers”, “Same Old Me”, which earned her a nomination for Single of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards, and her most recent French-language single “Le Roseau”.
