Gavin James Releases New Album “Goldrush”

Irish singer-songwriter Gavin James released his fourth studio album “Goldrush” on September 19, 2025.
This marks his first album in three years since the 2022 album “The Sweetest Part”.
The album comprises 13 tracks, produced by Gavin James, Dan Dare, James Earp, Corey Sanders, Gavin Wigglesworth, John Mcguire, and Alex Beitzke.
It structured in two distinct halves divided by an interlude. The first half is filled with upbeat, high-energy anthems, while the second half features personal, introspective songs.
Unfortunately, this time, preceding singles “I Do”, “Lovesick”, and “All My Life” weren't featured on the album.
Gavin James said of the album, “It's an album that I've been writing and producing for the last two years. It's also the first time I've dived head first into production, which was an amazing experience. The album has all the bells and whistles that I love when producing but also the intimate imperfect parts that make it feel human.”
He added, “This album has been over 2 years of work and I'm so happy to say I made it with my best buds. It's my favourite thing I've made so far.”- Gavin James explained some tracks for the album.
“Goldrush”
“Goldrush is a lot different than anything I've ever released in the past. Which is exciting and a little scary. It's kind of a song about everything. It's about seeing the world as it is after being through some hard times. About having a devil inside you that you sometimes have to keep at bay, the voice that makes you want to go crazy and lose yourself a bit. Kind of like the tale of the two wolves. I hope you like it.”
“Cherry Cola”
“It's a song about meeting someone on a night out and falling in love only to wake up and you both have lost feelings for each other. There's no sadness about it, it's just life. It sounds like a party reminiscing on a party that happened the night before. It definitely had a huge effect on what the album was going to sound like. Lots of guitar. Lots of scratchy bass and lots of live elements were put in later to give it a whole lot of energy.” - “Storm Warning”
“When recording Storm Warning, I wanted to make it sound like a steam train - after all, it's only two minutes. It's full to the brim with big drums, electrics, horn sections, and a little sprinkle of Springsteen in there too. This one has been a favourite to play live. I feel like it riles everyone up! Probably my favourite from the record.”
“White Noise”
“It's about being about being infatuated with someone so much that you forget about the world around you. I've written so many broken-hearted type love songs so I thought it was time to write one about being completely bowled over by someone. The song has this playful kind of Cupid feel to it. I guess it's a representation of how I feel right now in my own relationship. Anyway, there will still be some sad/broken-hearted love songs on the record but this one is about celebrating it.”
“Gone In The Morning”
“A song I wrote for a friend who has had struggles with alcohol and drugs. The song is about the worry, helplessness and hope that come with watching someone you love fight their way through a dark place, that friend has since turned things around and which is a wonderful thing.”
“Afterlife”
“This is my favourite song I've ever released. The idea for afterlife came from a dream that I had. I was sitting on the roof of my house, there was a tidal wave coming, and it was the end of the world. I was up there with my girlfriend and as we where counting the last moments I woke up, and when I woke up I felt a massive feeling of love and gratitude for where I was in my life and the people that I'm lucky enough to have around me. So I sang the verse idea into my phone immediately.”
“She Makes Me”
“It's about finding somebody that makes you. Makes you turn into the best version of yourself. There's also a beauty in knowing that you only have the rest of your life to spend with this person and the happiness you felt that you've found them. I hope you like it.”
“Heavy”
“I've been sitting on this one for a long time. This song has been living on my phone for ages.”
“Once In A Lifetime”
“This is once in a lifetime. It was used in the Christmas lottery advert in the Netherlands. Buzzing to be back over there in October for tour.” - source : Apple Music
