  • Sarah McLachlan Releases New Song “Reminds Me” featuring Katie Gavin

  • Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan joined forces with Los Angeles-based indie pop band MUNA's Katie Gavin to release a new song “Reminds Me” on September 16, 2025.

This marks the first collaboration between Sarah McLachlan and Katie Gavin.
The song is the third and final pre-release single from her upcoming tenth studio album “Better Broken”, which is set to be released this Friday (September 19th) via Concord Records.
It was written by Sarah McLachlan and produced by Tony Berg and Will Maclellan. The accompanying music video was directed by Lauren Wade.

Sarah McLachlan said of the song, “'Reminds Me' was written on acoustic guitar during COVID. I went down the Yellowstone rabbit hole on TV and kind of fell in love with the whole cowboy country music thing and thought, 'I want to write a love song.' I want to write a cowboy love song. That's kind of what it was called for a while. It was also an anniversary present for my partner-so that was sort of the impetus to write it. I just wanted it to be simple and pure and beautiful, maybe a little bit sappy. And I love that we got Katie Gavin to sing on it in the studio.”
  • The new album 11 tracks, featuring a guest appearance from Katie Gavin, produced by Tony Berg and Will Maclellan.
She recorded the album at the legendary Sound City Studios in Los Angeles.

Sarah McLachlan said of the album, “A lot of the lyrics on this record came from thinking about the world right now and asking, 'How do we move through this landscape? How do we keep our heads above water when it feels like so much is falling apart?' I don't know if I have any answers, but channeling all that angst and uncertainty into the music has been so cathartic. I hope that this record provides people with some relief and release-but in the end I just want them to take whatever they need from it, and make the songs part of their own story.”

  • Sarah McLachlan founded the all-female music festival Lilith Fair, which showcased artists including Sheryl Crow, Jewel, The Indigo Girls, Lisa Loeb, Fiona Apple, Erykah Badu, Tracy Chapman, Natalie Merchant, and many more.
Originally held during the summers of 1997 to 1999 and revived in 2010, the groundbreaking festival has now been captured in a new documentary “Lilith Fair: Building a Mystery” directed by Ally Pankiw.
The film premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival and is set to debut on Hulu on September 21, 2025.
