Kat Velasco Releases New Song “Breaking My Own Heart”
Nashville-based country pop singer-songwriter Kat Velasco released a new song “Breaking My Own Heart” on August 14, 2025.
The song is the fourth single of 2025, following “Paper Boy”, “Name on my Phone”, and “Kitchen Sink”.
The track explores the quiet dread of waiting for happiness to slip away and delves into the familiar experience of self-sabotage, capturing the turmoil of bracing for disappointment even when things seem perfect.
It was written by Claire Douglas, Hannah Ellis, and Jason Massey. Produced by Andy Sheridan, as with the previous three songs.
Kat Velasco said of the song, “Many of us can be our own worst enemy, existing somewhere in between hope and heartbreak.”
She added, “I'm a chronic self sabotager. I've message up my life more times than I can count. So now I'm trying to the cycle.”- Kat Velasco grew up in South Carolina. Since launching her career in 2021, now based in the Music City of Nashville.
