CHINCHILLA Releases New Song “Ok As I Am”
London-based singer-songwriter CHINCHILLA released a new song “Ok As I Am” on August 1, 2025.
The song is the follow-up to Avoidance, which was released back in June.
It was track was written by Daisy Bertenshaw, Eva Busacker Arnby, and Nicolas Rebscher, who also produced the track.
CHINCHILLA said of the song, “‘Ok As I Am’ is my journey through emotional turmoil. It’s anger versus sadness versus self-acceptance, or the longing for that. It’s a bit like the different stages of grief... I guess nothing else matters apart from that. I think I was craving honesty in my songs.”
She continued, “This song. It’s a fucking beautiful mess and that’s what processing is. It’s anger vs sadness vs self acceptance (or the longing for that). My journey through emotional turmoil. A bit like the different stages of grief. All the different sections reflect those fighting emotions... and then the moment of calm/stillness, ‘I’m ok as I am’. I guess nothing else matters apart from that. There’s no blame or evil there. If you’re over-analysing yourself that much then maybe you’re just in the wrong situation.”- She added, “I wrote this with Nicolas Rebscher and Eva Busacker Arnby, and it felt like home. Something in my head clicked like ‘ok, I want to write something really honest that I actually will want to put out’. I think I was battling a lot of emotions and craving that honesty in my songs.”
The music video for the song was directed by Kai Cem Narin and premiered on August 21, 2025.
CHINCHILLA said of the video, “I’m posting it full length in all its glory because that’s how it’s made to be watched. One of my favourite things I have ever made. Self funded, low/no fees, made with so much love from everyone involved. One of those once in a blue moon passion projects that is a complete dream and reminds me exactly why I do this. This feels like a win that I really needed.” -
She continued, “I had this idea since writing the song and this process of bringing it into reality was so dreamy. I met up with Kai Cem Narin depressed with the foundation of 'I have no budget left to create any more music videos' - and came out 4 wines deep with 2 treatments...
