  • King Princess Premieres New Song “Cry Cry Cry” on BBC Radio 1

  • Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter King Princess premiered a new song “Cry Cry Cry” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.

The song is the second single off of her upcoming third studio album “Girl Violence”, following “RIP KP” released last month.
The album is set to be released on September 12, 2025 via Section1. It is her first album in three years since the 2022 album “Hold On Baby”.
King Princess said of the song, “'Cry Cry Cry' is about a friendship with a lady that did not work out. Sometimes two divas create an explosion.”
The track was written by Jacob Portrait, Joseph Pincus, Logan McQuade, Michael Aaron Malchicoff, Mikaela Straus, and Nick Long. Produced by King Princess, Nick Long, and Mike Malchicoff.
  • King Princess told Jack Saunders about the song, “I feel like, I've been really excited to release this song. I've been kind of teasing it and posting about it on Discord for a while, for like, two years. And this is the, probably the first song I wrote on this album, but it was from a different. It was I written it a while ago, and it just fit perfectly into the narrative of this record of 'Girl Violence'. And I'm stoked that it's coming out.”

She continued, “I remember being in the studio with my bass player, Logan and Nick Long, who I've been writing with since I was 16 years old. And he was playing that guitar part, and he's such a good guitar player, and from the second he put that guitar, he's like, I have an idea for guitar player. He just started playing that. And I was like, 'Oh, we got something good here.'”

  • The new album comprises 13 tracks, featuring a guest appearance from Joe Talbot.

King Princess said of the album, “I made this record without a record label, like, I just made it in Brooklyn with Jacob Portrait and Aire Atlantica, and we kind of were a three man band. And it was, honestly so wonderful, I mean, because there was nobody over my shoulder. And I just kind of sat in the studio and just enjoyed myself and made a record. The way a record is meant to be made, which is with your friends and in a studio that you love. So I feel like there you can hear in the record that I'm like, back in my home city, that I'm contemplative but confident, and when I listen to it, I'm like, 'Wow, that sounds like a way happier pop star, diva.'”

She said of the album in a statement last month, “Girl violence is very sneaky. It's not physical, it's deeply emotional, spiritual, and spooky. Women are both amazing and sinister - including myself - and it's my curiosity to understand all the love, loss, and changes that come out of my love for women. Why are we so inclined to cause and receive chaos? If you've experienced even an iota of it, then you'll have a story to tell. And these are mine.”
