ROLE MODEL Performs “Sally, When The Wine Runs Out” & “Some Protector” on Saturday Night Live
American singer-songwriter Tucker Pillsbury, aka ROLE MODEL appeared on Saturday Night Live to perform “Sally, When The Wine Runs Out” and “Some Protector”.
This marks his musical guest debut on Saturday Night Live.
Two songs were featured on the deluxe edition of his sophomore album “Kansas Anymore” entitled “Kansas Anymore (The Longest Goodbye)”, which was released back in February.
“Sally, When The Wine Runs Out” was written by Annika Bennett, Harrison Whitford, Noah Conrad, and Tucker Pillsbury. Produced by Noah Conrad and Harrison Whitford.
During his performance of the song, British singer-songwriter Charli xcx made a surprise appearance. After dancing, she slid her sunglasses onto Role Model's face, blew him a kiss, then strutted away.- ROLE MODEL said of the song, “That was very much about a new experience and trying to dive headfirst back into the dating pool. I just wanted a fun song and at the time I was in a pretty good spot mentally and I was like, 'I'm gonna take advantage of this, so let's try and make a song that's not so much of a downer for anyone.'”
Some Protector” was written by Tucker Pillsbury, and Noah Conrad, who also produced the track.
ROLE MODEL told Ryan Seacrest about the deluxe edition, “I wrote four new songs for for a deluxe version of the album just with the hopes of like extending people's interest in the album itself and then that song by itself took off in a way that I was not expecting.
