Waterparks Releases New Song “IF LYRICS WERE CONFIDENTIAL”
American pop-rock band Waterparks, consisting of Awsten Knight (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Geoff Wigington (lead guitar) and Otto Wood (drums), released a new song “IF LYRICS WERE CONFIDENTIAL” on September 19, 2025.
The song is the follow-up to “RED GUITAR”, which was released back in July. The band is currently working on their upcoming sixth studio album. Both songs will appear on the album.
The band said of the album, “The new Waterparks album is 80% done. We are in the studio now. Some of these songs are so wildly great it feels like I'm listening to a magic trick. Forcing ourselves to rewrite until it's perfect - the delay but (knock on wood) this is the best Waterparks album and it's not even close. Good luck.”
The track was written by Awsten Knight, Joe Ragosta, Nicholas Zinnanti, and Robert Ragosta. Produced by Awsten Knight, NCKZN, and Jared Poythress.
The accompanying music video was directed by Lucas Hand.- The band said of the song, “A lot of the songs on the next Waterparks album play with big, abstract concepts, and IF LYRICS WERE CONFIDENTIAL was one of those. The premise is exactly what it sounds like – things I’d get into if I didn’t think anyone would ever hear the song, which in my opinion is the best way to write. It’s how you get yourself to talk about the most personal and uncomfortable things. The lyrics brush through a lot of topics very quickly, all of which could probably be their own songs, but that’s also what makes it exciting.”
