Lemondaze Returns With New Song “o(type)”
Cambridge-based post-rock band Lemondaze, consisting of Isis de Chastelain (guitar/vocals)m Rosie Heard-Edwards (guitar/vocals), Finn Fox (drums) and Jonty Freeman (bass), returned with a new song “o(type)” on August 12, 2025.
The song is their first music in four years since the 2021 debut song ”Art Form”.
Built on thunderous low-end, cascading guitars and a hushed but urgent vocal, the track reframes the band’s early ethereal leanings into something heavier, rawer, and more direct.
The track was written by Finn Fox, Isis De Chastelain, Jonathan Freeman, and Rosie Heard-Edwards. Produced by Matt Glasbey.
The accompanying music video was directed by Bradley Davies and Harry Wheelwright.
The band said of the song, “It’s an unconventional love song, the relationship is over, but the wanting and the hurt is still present. Loving someone even though you shouldn’t, that you should move on but you can’t.”- They continued, “'o(type)' is a purer, more honest song, it comes directly from our souls. It’s unashamedly us, about our personal relationships with love. We hadn’t made music like that before. This new music feels like a truer representation of us that captures the energy of our live sound which we have previously struggled to do.”
