BLÜ EYES Returns With New Song “two people at once”
American pop singer-songwriter Katie Stump, aka BLÜ EYES returned with a new song “two people at once” on June 27, 2025.
The song is the first single of 2025 and follows the collaborative song “Silver Lining” with Ryan Nealon, which was released last August.
It was written by Joe Dolman, Kaity Rae, and Katie Stump. Produced by BLÜ EYES and Kaity Rae.
The accompanying music video was directed by Sophia Matinazad.
BLÜ EYES said of the song, “When I got sick, I was split in two: Into the before and the after. Into my mind and my body. Into the fierce friend and the quiet bookworm. Into the domineering businesswoman and the still-healing inner child. Into the outgoing performer and the overstimulated introvert. For the last 4 years, these two sides of me have played a violent game of tug of war, constantly fighting for attention. Fighting to be seen, to be heard, to be loved.”
She continued, “This record is the sound of that struggle. The emotional whiplash of persevering only to be knocked back down again. The vertigo of the pendulum swing, never fully settling in the middle. But what I am realizing now is I AM both. I am social and I am solitary. I am ambitious and I am content. I am productive and I am observant. I am two people at once. And slowly but surely, I am beginning to learn how to love it all.”- She shared on social media, “I wrote this with my pals Joe & Kaity in north London last year from an idea I had mid panic attack about how I desperately want to embrace my extrovertedness & do all the things & be social & see the world but sometimes my body just will not let me and that sucks. I am so so proud of this whole body of work ahead and can't wait for you to hear everything I've been working on.”
She said of the video, “We worked so hard to put this whole thing together - I was an anxious wreck bc we shot this literally 3 weeks before my wedding but every single person on set made me feel so loved and safe.” -
She added, “Sophia Matinazad you are a genius. Thank you for caring so deeply and so fiercely about this project and pouring so much of your incredible creativity into every single shot. Every single person on the crew you brought in was an extension of that immense creativity and care and focus and I just have never felt more professionally emboldened in my life.” - source : Apple Music
