Lammping & Bloodshot Bill Team Up for New Song “Won't Back Down”
Toronto-based psychedelic rock band Lammping, consisting of Mikhail Galkin (composer/producer) and Jay Anderson (drums), will release their upcoming fourth studio album “Never Never” on June 27, 2025 via We Are Busy Bodies.
It is their first album in three years since the 2022 collaborative album “Clouds of Joy: Chance of Reign” with Badge Époque Ensemble.
The new record is the collaborative album with Montreal-based rockabilly singer-songwriter Bloodshot Bill and comprises 7 tracks.
From the album, the band released a new song “Won't Back Down” on June 3, 2025.
The song is the second single off of the album, following “Never Never” released last month.
The track is reimagined Bloodshot Bill's “Won't Back Down”, which is featured on his 2023 album “Psyche-O-Billy”.
It was written by Derek Rogers, Mikhail Galkin, and Jay Anderson. Produced by Mikhail Galkin.- Mikhail Galkin said of the song, “Psyche-O-Billy is probably my favourite Bloodshot Bill album. That song always stood out - it had a dark undercurrent I thought we could build off. I pitched the idea of reimagining it as something more haunting and psychedelic, and Bill was down to try it.”
He continued, “We tried to make the drums sound like a Black Moon or Mobb Deep record from the '90s and then layered guitars and synths to feel like drones from an old Twilight Zone episode -or some lost '80s B-horror flick.” - source : Apple Music
