Florence Road Releases New Song “Caterpillar”
Irish alt-rock band Florence Road, consisting of Lily Aron (vocals), Emma Brandon (guitar), Ailbhe Barry (bass) and Hannah Kelly (drums), has released a new song “Caterpillar”.
The song received its first play during BBC Radio 1's Future Artists with Sian Eleri.
The track is the follow-up to “Heavy”, which was released back in March.
This time, the band recorded the song with producer Dan Nigro, who is known for his work with Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan.
They will support Olivia Rodrigo's GUTS World Tour at Marlay Park Dublin on June 24 and Hyde Park London on June 27, 2025.
Also, the band has dropped two music videos for the song: a “live from Bray seafront” version and a “straight from the tub” version.- The band told PAPER about the song, “The only way I could describe it was as if a 'caterpillar' was hatching in my chest. That nauseous, fluttery feeling that won't go away. I deal with those emotions by creating – so we hope fans will be able to find comfort in the song and that we can articulate what it's like for those who can't.”
They said of the video for the bathtub version, “When we first had the idea of filming 'caterpillar' in a bathtub, we thought it was just a bit of a laugh. But as we got in there, it clicked - there's something about the intimacy of it that mirrors the vulnerability of the song itself.”
They added about the live version, “We had so much fun filming this in our hometown with the very talented CLTV big love to you guys.” - source : BBC Radio 1
