  • Reneé Rapp Releases New Song “Why Is She Still Here?”

  • American singer-songwriter Reneé Rapp released the third single called “Why Is She Still Here?” from her upcoming sophomore album “BITE ME” on July 18, 2025, following “Leave Me Alone” and “Mad”.

The album is set to be released on August 1, 2025 via Interscope Records.
The song is an R&B-inflected, bass guitar-driven pop ballad. On the track, she sings about relationship complications.
She sings, “You can tell me you don't love her / But you should probably tell her too / 'Cause I can't keep sleeping undercover / 'Cause if I'm your girl, then why is she still here?”
The track was written by Alexander 23 (Alexander Glantz), Ali Tamposi, Julian Bunetta, Omer Fedi, and Reneé Rapp. Produced by Omer Fedi and Julian Bunetta.
  • The new album comprises 12 tracks, on which she worked with American singer-songwriter Alexander 23 again, who co-wrote and produced, as with her debut album. It is her first body of work in two years since the 2023 debut album “Snow Angel”.

Reneé Rapp said of the album, “23 to 24 has been such a massive difference for me. It's about this and to this point, a reflection on my 23rd year specifically. It was so bad, and I thought 22 was insane for me.”

She continued, “I remember just feeling so overwhelmed and thinking I needed to do something with all this negative energy. So, I sat down in a corner, closed my eyes for about 10 minutes, and just let the thoughts flow. It was like a form of mental escape, a way to process everything without having to vocalize it directly. I think the rawness of those emotions adds a layer of authenticity to my music. It's like, in that moment of vulnerability, I can tap into something deeper and more genuine.”

  • She added, “Every artist has their own way of dealing with their emotions, and for me, writing has always been therapeutic. Whether I'm having a good day or a bad day, writing helps me make sense of my experiences. It's like every song is a snapshot of what I was going through at that particular time.”
