Caskets Returns With New Song “Make Me A Martyr”
Back in May, British post-hardcore band Caskets, consisting of Matthew Flood (vocals), Benjamin Wilson (lead guitar), James Lazenby (drums) and Craig Robinson (rhythm guitar), returned with a new song “Make Me A Martyr” via SharpTone Records.
It is their first music in two years since the 2023 album “Reflections”.
Also, it is the first release after bassist and founding member Christopher McIntosh left the band in 2024.
The song received its first play during BBC Radio 1's Future Artists with Sian Eleri.
It was written by Benjamen Wilson, Craig Robinson, James Lazenby, Joshua Adam Strock, Justin Roebuck-Joseph, Matthew Flood, Philip Strand, and Zachary Allen Jones. Produced by Zach Jones and KJ Strock.
The accompanying music video was directed by LIAV.- The band frontman Matthew Flood said of the song, “Make Me A Martyr' refers to an exploration of self-destruction and emotional turmoil. 'Break me down, I'm nothing, I'm yours' shines on the raw vulnerability of letting yourself become so lost in someone else. 'You make me feel nothing, leave me to rot' is a nod to the numbness that comes from being so depressively and deeply trapped in a toxic connection. It's a cry for a real connection even if that means completely losing your own self-worth in the process of finding it.”
