FLO Premieres New Song “The Mood” with KAYTRANADA on BBC Radio 1
London-based girl group FLO, consisting of Jorja Douglas, Stella Quaresma and Renée Downer, premiered a new song “The Mood” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
On the track, they teamed up with Haitian-Canadian music producer KAYTRANADA.
This marks the first collaboration between FLO and KAYTRANADA.
The song is the first song since their debut album “Access All Areas”, which was released last November.
It was written by Jorja Douglas, Louis Kevin Celestin, Renée Downer, Stella Quaresma, and MNEK. Produced by KAYTRANADA.
FLO said of the song, “The Mood is a fun and fresh take on sex. Sometimes you're not in the mood! We made this song two years ago and it still feels brand new to us. We are so honoured to have been able to work with Kaytranada and so happy that the world can enjoy it with us!!!”- FLO told Jack Saunders about the song, “We've been sitting on this song for two years, and we're so happy to share it with you. We've loved his stuff for so long, and we were in the studio with MNEK. And he had a beat pack from KAYTRANADA. So he played through them, and this one stood out. What was this like a dream like. Even now that the song's coming out, like we're so happy that we've got our Flo and KAYTRANADA song. I hope it's the first of many, exactly. I think clearly, our voices work well with this production.”
