Hunter Hayes Releases New Song Hayes “Wait”
American singer-songwriter Hunter Hayes released a new song “Wait” on July 11, 2025.
The song is the second single off of his upcoming album “Evergreen”, following “Around the Sun” released back in May.
The new project follows the 2024 re-imagination EP “Lost & Found”, which was released last November. It is his first album since the 2023 album “Red Sky”.
Hunter Hayes said of the album, “Evergreen - the SERIES is from a future place or a future self.”
It was written by Hunter Hayes, John Mark Nelson, and Steven Solomon. Produced by Hunter Hayes and Alex Flagstad.
The accompanying music video was filmed by Good Game Productions, as with the previous video for “Around the Sun”.
Hunter Hayes said of the song, “I wrote this when I was stuck in the friend zone, (anyone else been there? oof)... I just couldn't get them to see me any differently, so I waited, and waited, and then I wrote this song. WAIT is for anyone out there who knows there's someone somewhere meant for them. It's a hopeful and optimistic way of trusting the process and knowing that what's meant to be will be. The most beautiful things in life show up when we least expect it and are always worth the wait.”- Hunter Hayes told The Honey Pop about the album, “Evergreen (the upcoming album) is my entire life and my entire personality. Right now, I've changed all the decorations in my home to feel more like outside. I've got plants everywhere, which is a new thing for me, and I'm enjoying it. There are only two bonsai trees that I don't know how to keep alive, but everything else is thriving. I'm taking in more nature in this project. It's a whole project about just manifesting, creating more of what you want in the world, and knowing that you can create it. So I cannot wait to share more of that with you.”
