  • mgk (Machine Gun Kelly) Releases New Song “vampire diaries”

  • American rapper and singer-songwriter mgk, formerly Machine Gun Kelly, will release his upcoming seventh studio album “lost americana” on August 8, 2025.

From the album, he released a new song “vampire diaries” on July 11, 2025.
The song is the second single off of the album, following “cliché” released back in May.
It was written by Colson Baker. Produced by SlimXX, BazeXX, Travis Barker, Nick Long, and No Love For The Middle Child.
The accompanying music video was directed by Sam Cahill and choreographed by Sean Bankhead, as with the previous video for “cliché”.
The video was fimed at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles, and pays homage to Michael Jackson's legendary performance of “Dangerous” at the 1995 MTV Music Awards.

mgk shared of social media, “This video is special. I can't wait for y'all to see vampire diaries video tmrrw.”
  • The new album comprises 13 tracks, produced by mgk, Brandon Allen, Travis Barker, Stephen Basil, Nick Long, and Andrew Migliore. It is his first album in three years since the 2022 album “Mainstream Sellout”.
He released a trailer for the album last month. The video was narrated by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan.
Bob Dylan drawls “Lost Americana is a personal excavation of the American dream. A journey to find what's been lost. This album is a love letter to those who seek to rediscover it. The dreamers, drifters, the defiant. It's a sonic map of forgotten places. A tribute to the spirit of reinvention, and a quest to reclaim the essence of American freedom. From the gold neon diners to the rumble of the motorcycles, this is music that celebrates the beauty found in the in-between spaces. Where the past is reimagined and the future is forged on your own terms.”

  • This work began when Bob Dylan posted mgk's rapping video to his social media earlier this year.
mgk said of Bob Dylan, “Just the originator of doing everything opposite of what people wanted him to do, randomly posting a video of me back in the day rapping in a vinyl shop. I'm just like, 'What the fuck?' Just trust the signs, man. That was so cool. I'm so grateful.”
