Mergui Releases New Song “WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT”
Los Angeles-based Israeli singer-songwriter Mergui released his brand new song “WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT” on July 11, 2025.
The song was released after he wrapped up his Summer 2025 US tour with Phoenix-based folk-pop band Just Seconds Apart in June, presented by Sofar Sounds.
The track follows “Risk It All”, which was released back in May.
It was written by Jonathan Mergui and Álvaro Rodriguez. Produced by Boi Ecchi, Varo, and Mergui.
Mergui said of the song, “'What More Do You Want' is about the kind of toxic relationship that doesn't really end when you walk away. I wrote it after a really painful split with people who had a lot of control over my life. There was manipulation, gaslighting, and a constant demand for more, even after everything was supposed to be over. The song is about trying to break free while someone keeps pulling you back, twisting your words, and making you doubt yourself. It's about finding the strength to take your voice back when someone else keeps trying to control your story.”- He added, “This one means a lot to me. I wasn't sure if I'd ever release it. But I thought, maybe someone out there needs to hear it It's about choosing to stop holding onto something just because it's familiar, and being brave enough to walk towards something new. If you're in the dark right now, I hope this gives you courage to step out, the sunlight feels great.”
