Audrey Hobert Announces Debut Album “Who's the Clown?”, Shares New Song “Wet Hair”
American singer-songwriter Audrey Hobert has announced her upcoming debut album “Who's the Clown?” Will be released on August 15, 2025 via RCA Records
From the album, she released a new song “Wet Hair” on July 23, 2025.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “Bowling alley” and “Sue me”.
It was written by Audrey Hobert and produced by Ricky Gourmet, as with the previous song “Bowling alley”.
The accompanying music video was directed by Audrey Hobert herself.
Audrey Hobert said of the song, “'Wet Hair' is the first song I wrote by myself. I had just broken up with the boyfriend from 'Sue me.' I was intrigued by the possibilities-aren't break-ups classically great song inspiration? Yet there I sat, unelectrified by the whole thing. I just started writing out what was happening to me on my laptop at that moment, not putting it to music right away. Soon enough, I was singing 'Wet Hair.' The song in its essence is about not being worried about 'it.' Not needing to look your best to see your ex, not even needing dry hair. Knowing that you at your physical worst is still his greatest dream. Knowing you have the upper hand and leaning into it in a respectful way. It's lackadaisical, it's a story-just like it was breaking up with him. Oops.”- The album comprises 12 tracks, on which she worked with producer Ricky Gourmet over the past year.
She said of the album, “I've sat with the girl who no one liked at lunch. I've had a crush on the guy with the rolly backpack because no one else did. I've looked out the window in the car and thought of the music video. I've read the book and seen the movie and heard the song. I've felt like the most special person in the dingiest corner of the background. Last summer, I sat at my desk in my room, and I wrote 'til I was blue in the face.
