Caity Baser Announces New EP “There, I Said It”, Shares New Song “The Weight Of You (I'm Glad You Died)”
Brighton-based singer-songwriter Caity Baser has announced her upcoming EP “There, I Said It” will be released on August 22, 2025.
The EP is her first project since the 2024 mixtape “Still Learning”.
From the EP, she released a new song “The Weight Of You (I'm Glad You Died)” on July 25, 2025.
The song is the third single off of the EP, following “Watch That Girl (She's Gonna Say It)” and “The Story of Her”.
It was written by Caity Baser, Josephine Vander West, and Anthony Vander West, who also produced the track.
The track features British composer Simon Dobson and The Parallax Orchestra.
Caity Baser said of the song, “When I was eight, I was sexually assaulted. I've never known how to explain how that felt, because I was so young and I was flung into all these super serious situations, like police interviews and going into court. It was just a really horrible experience, and for my whole life, I've been ashamed of it and never really known how to write it down or how to say it.”- The EP comprises 8 tracks and was recorded entirely with live instruments.
She said of the EP, “I'm finally in a place where I feel ready to release this special collection of songs I've been working on. It's hugely important to me and contains some difficult feelings – I feel really excited to explore a more vulnerable side of me and talk about things that are a part of who I am. This EP is all about the things I've never spoken about; the things I taught myself to be ashamed of.” -

Can't believe a song that is so close to my heart is out in the world right now I hope whoever needs it hears it ! Over the last year I have been really trying to acknowledge all the things that have made me as a person , no matter how painful or uncomfortable. That being said , THERE , I SAID IT the EP will be yours on the 22ND of August. A concoction of beautiful sadness and healing I hope u love her and she heals u like she's healed me !
