Will Linley Announces Debut Album “Don't Cry Because It's Over”, Shares New Song “First Love”
South African singer-songwriter Will Linley has announced his upcoming debut album “Don't Cry Because It's Over” will be released on September 5, 2025.
The album comprises 12 tracks and was recorded with producers John Samuel Gerhart and The Imports in Los Angeles.
Will Linley said, “I couldn't be more proud of this project and I cannot wait for you to listen through and discover the world we've created around this album.”
From the album, he released a new song “First Love” on August 1, 2025.
The song is the second single off of the album, following “Cinematic” released back in May.
It was written by Brian Brundage, Bubele Booi, David Balshaw, and Will Linley. Produced by The Imports.
The accompanying music video was directed by Eliot Lee, starring Zoe Oedekerk, Will Linley, and Emma Reynolds.- Will Linley said of the song, “I wrote 'First Love' at the end of my first breakup. The song captures the questions in your head after a relationship. I had to come to terms with the fact that my first girlfriend had to put up with me learning how to love. I've come to realize the first time you do anything, you don't get it right. Sadly, that includes love.”

He continued, “This song holds such a special place in my heart. I wrote this just over a year ago with Brian Brundage and The Imports and almost immediately knew this song would be important for the album. For the past few years there's been a level of vulnerability that I've been too scared to venture into with my song writing. But when I was building out the album I knew I owed to both myself and to you guys to show a new side of me; something raw, something real. “First Love” was written with tears in my eyes and I knew I couldn't rush it.”
