Good Charlotte Announces New Album “Motel Du Cap”, Shares New Song “Rejects”
American rock band Good Charlotte, consisting of Joel Madden (vocals), Benji Madden (guitar/vocals), Paul Thomas (bass) and Billy Martin (guitar/keyboards), has announce their upcoming eighth studio album “Motel Du Cap” will be released on August 8, 2025 via Atlantic Records.
The album is their first LP in seven years since the 2018 album “Generation Rx” and comprises 13 tracks.
The record was inspired by the band performing private gig at the Hotel du Cap in France, for a friend's wedding in 2023.
The band frontman Joel Madden said, “It was this wild, once-in-a-lifetime vibe. We were just there to celebrate, no pressure, and it reminded us why we started this - pure, unfiltered connection.”
From the album, the band first single called “Rejects” on June 25, 2025.
The band first performed the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week.
The song is accompanied by a music video, which was directed by Erik Rojas and Lenna Onto.
It was written by Benji Madden, Joel Madden, Jordan Fish, and Zakk Cervini. Produced by Jordan Fish and Zakk Cervini- Joel Madden told Rolling Stone about the song, “I don't even think 'Rejects' is necessarily the most obvious single type song, but it's the one we feel like people should hear first. We think it's a really great start and a representation of the record and the music.”
He continued, “Sometimes you have moments in life where it's really fucking hard. It has nothing to do with your family or your success or your failure or whatever. But it's a moment of aloneness, and you question stuff, and even have to give yourself the room to feel OK with those moments. That line, that just came out of me. I feel like everyone can relate to it, no matter who they are. They have those moments where they have to take a knee or let out a deep sigh or whatever, and then just keep getting on with it.” -
The band guitarist Benji Madden added, “'Rejects' is very meaningful. It flips back and forth between you and your inner child. To me, the chorus is the inner child screaming back at you because we leave our inner children behind. When we can find our power in life is when we can get reintegrated with that kid.”
